CROSSWORDS I QUIZ I HANGMAN I AMAZING STORIES I KNOW YOUR PAST ! I LYRICS I HUMORI MESSAGE BOARDI LITERATI - ARTICLES I ASK MR GREYCELLSI HOME | |
A friend is someone who is so special and close in thoughts, that no distance
can ever seem far...a friend is that someone whose cheerful 'hello'always brings
a bright smile to your face, whose thoughtfulness makes you feel really at
home.
Whatever the time or the place...a friend is someone who shares all
your secrets and laugh at the same things as you do,who helps you without any
word, stands by you when nothing goes right and willingly talks over problems
with you till they somehow just vanish from right and whether you're neighbours
or live miles apart,a word from a friend gives a lift to your heart and
spirit.
Let's get going then ! |
Karan : | "The present society doesent have a broad outlook to see a guy and
a girl share everything behind the tag of 'just friends'. |
Nair : | "The indian society is not mature enough to understand the dimensions of such a relationship. |
Adi : | "If people go out in a group no one questions their relationship
but if any two indivisuals out of it go out as apair to freak out, then
people do question their relationship. If this attitude can be changed then
maybe... |
Well ,Well, Well This looks like a knockout ...nobody here seems
to say yes.... Comon someone .... |
Charu : | "It does accept when one remains in limits.Whenever one crosses the limits publically, ofcourse, questions would arise" |
OK now we are having an argument......Afterall,Adam and Eve were
not meant to be just and just friends, right?. But a fact not deniable, is
that a girl and a guy are better friends than two guys or two girls.
What do we have here....Mr. Brijesh has something new.. |
Brijesh : | "In the backward rural areas, such a relation is unacceptable whereas,in the urban India, two people of opposite sexes just being friends is acceptable" |
Some differ a little on this..... |
Parry : | "This mental block is prevelant only in the middle class whose thoughts are bound to the so-called indian culture." |
And some differ a lot....... |
Jaya : | "Such a mental divide can be found across all the sections of the society." |
Hey we are deviating a bit guys ......lets get back generally do you think the Indian society can accept a guy and a girl as just friends? |
Taruna : | "Even a platonic relationship is accepted now, it is only upto a certain age after which the society doesn't accept" |
Shailly : | "It is only the educated class which approves of this relation. Its all the influence of the west." |
Talking of the west, the fact is that we are all aping them and yet we are forgetting something-they are an indifferent society-very much unlike us. But then how about the two people under question? |
Narayanan: | "It all depends upon you...you make up the society. As long as your thinking is positive,a girl and and a guy can be good friends. And ofcourse, both of them should think this way." |
Kavita : | "I believe that friendship is an eternal bond.It is basically what your heart strings feel about the otherperson. If you are firm on your stand,I don't think any society could make you shake" |
Exactly Narayanan has hit the nail on the head ....who is the
Indian society.?.....I think Manjot sums up the argument pretty
well.... |
Manjot : | "It all depends on who you think makes up the Indian society. If its my parents generation, then the answer is......... no. A guy and a girl who appear to be friends are confronted with obvious wonder and suspicion. Acceptance is highly unlikely if not impossible. But ofcourse, I also make up the Indian society. Don't i ? And my friends too. We accept and enjoy the 'just' friendship between a guy and a girl. And we accept it with all its attachments......... the fights, the fun, and the mystery. " |
A week later here is what comes across .... |
Jasbir Saini : | "The absolute answer is NO because taking into consideration all the primitive ideologies which is being constantly brewed into the younger generation by the old customized pepole it all seems nothing less than impossible to me that the indian society will ever take a relationship between a boy and a girl to be just friendship. " |
Ashok Murli : | "I guess it is all in your mind. If you do care a lot about the people around you, then you tend to blemish even a budding friendship between a boy and a girl. Its a question of your attitude. " |
OK there are few takers .... |
Neelesh : | "Of course it does. But up to some extent b'coz it is more like watching a HIGHLY BORING COMEDY with all kinds of BARKING in it." " |
Kavita : | "Yeah, everything that happens behind the curtains in the capital affects our lives ....so obviously i'm interested !" " |
Here comes the hotstepper .... |
Vivek : | "BULLSHIT, everything is a sick political game and everyone is trying to be a leader and do the best for himself out there " |
No takers here... |
Jivtesh : | " NAAH..As time has passed i've realized that all your concern is absolutely useless. Now i don't give a damn ! " |
Karan : | "NO, India has been carrying on and on Govt will come and go....whatever development has to take place is in the hands of the individuals itself ! " |
Charu : | "Maybe if they do something affecting the students like us.... that happens rarely , they are busy in growing their holdfirst on their chairs ! " |
